Matti Braun s’est inspiré de certaines productions et développements culturels du mouvement Moderniste de l’Inde du XXe siècle. Sa recherche se concentre notamment sur le personnage de Vikram Sarabhai (1919-1971), father of the Indian space programme. Sarabhai came from a progressist and influent family who maintained friendly relationtions with personalities such as Le Corubusier, architect of their residence in Ahmedabad (1951) or else John Cage, a major artist of the New York avant-garde.
Son oeuvre Untitled (2015) a récemment rejoint les collections du NMNM et est actuellement présentée au troisième étage de la Villa Paloma dans le cadre de l’exposition « Collection NMNM, une sélection d’oeuvres acquises grâce au soutien d’UBS (Monaco) S.A. »
