Screening / Talk with Laure Prouvost
In the frame of the exhibition Portraits d’Intérieurs at Villa Sauber until February 1, 2015, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, in collaboration with l’Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques de la Ville de Monaco, l’ECLAT and the Cinéma of Beaulieu-sur-Mer present a screening of five videos of Laure Prouvost followed by a talk with the artist.
Laure Prouvost combines language and images to create fictional narratives that are both appealing and disturbing, exploring the boundaries between fiction and reality. Rhythmic compositions of images, texts and sounds, Prouvost’s films are physical experiences in which the audience is endlessly solicited. This selection of work from 2009 to 2014 is an occasion to discover the continuity of a disoriented and whimsical universe.
Laure Prouvost was born in 1978 in Lille. She lives and works in London. She is represented by MOT International. Her films and videos are distributed by LUX.In 2013, she won the prestigious Turner Prize
