Archigram Présentation par Eve Roy
Archigram, a group of London based architects (Warren Clark, Peter Cook, Denis Crompton, David Greene, Ron Herron and Michael Webb) founded in 1961, dominated the architectural avant-garde in the 1960s and early 1970s. In 1969 they won a competition for a leisure centre in Monaco. The project consisted in an enormous circular dome buried underground on the seafront (Larvotto district). The seats, toilets and lights were mounted on wheels to be moved around into new configurations as the use of the building changed.
Through the lecture and tour given by Eve Roy, associate lecturer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture of Marseille, the visitors discovered the story behind this group and this project.
