NMNM takes part in the OVNi festival in Nice

As part of the hotels programme at the OVNi international video art festival in Nice, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco is presenting System between System by studio smarin from 29 November to 1 December at the Hôtel WindsoR, in the room designed by conceptual artist Jean Dupuy.
This video shows a game played between conceptual artist Jean Dupuy and designer Stéphanie Marin using the ‘Sign System’ device.
The ‘Sign System’ is a game of signs, writing and language, without limits or rules, developed by smarin in 2016. The game, based on the many encounters and coincidences that have marked Jean Dupuy’s life, is an opportunity for new facetious anagrams.
The ‘Vie géométrique’ construction system and the ‘Sign System’ game system, presented exceptionally in the room designed by Jean Dupuy, are also the elements that make up a larger ensemble entitled ‘Écoletopie’, an experiment in pedagogy devised by the smarin studio and currently being deployed at the Principality of Monaco’s Saint-Charles school in partnership with the Direction de l’Éducation Nationale de la Jeunesse et des Sports and with the support of the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco.
