Suivre le perroquet blanc. Récits et autres tours A performance by Lidwine Prolonge in Monaco's little tourist train
Every tourist town has its own little train. Often, the locomotive is a scaled-down version of those of days gone by, pulling a few wagons of passive strollers. The tour, offered in several languages, gets straight to the point. It focuses on the main monuments and historical highlights. Between each sequence, atmospheric music helps pass the time.
At the invitation of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, Lidwine Prolonge has imagined her “grand tour” of the principality. To the sound of her voice, in a circular tracking shot, she weaves cinematographic and literary references with anecdotes and serendipity. She invites us to reconsider the obvious in a landscape that has already been fictionalized many times.
